Youth Bus 5 Video Shoots – Behind the Scenes

Seriously, I have never had such a strange day in my life. We hit the road at 11 AM and started shooting around Gülhane with my friend around 12:30 PM, but man, what a shoot. We brought along a tripod, lenses, and even a laptop due to a lack of storage space. The videos took up around 35 GB in total. We started shooting in Gülhane, but what a shoot it was. We were laughing at least 2-3 times every 60 seconds. We had never stood in front of a camera and spoken in our lives, yet here we were, going to Gülhane on a holiday with all this equipment, starting to shoot in the middle of the crowds and tourists.

Man, we start talking, and as soon as we do, the people around us just start staring right into my eyes. Guys, just stop looking for a bit so we can comfortably get our job done and leave. But no, some kid even came up and asked, “Brother, which channel will this news be on?” I completely lost it right there. The tourists are a whole other story; man, you don’t even understand what we’re saying, but you just stand there and keep watching us. How am I supposed to stand there and talk to the camera while you are staring at me?

Never mind the people, the ambient noise was terrible. If I ever attempt a shoot like this again, I won’t go without a microphone. It just doesn’t work because the surrounding sounds drown out our voices.

But at the end of the day, we went home wondering if a decent video would even come out of all this footage. By the way, we left the house at 11 AM and walked back in around 8 PM. Of course, we thought we would immediately start editing the videos as soon as we got home, but it doesn’t work like that. It doesn’t work like that when you’ve been standing in front of a camera for hours. I came home, laid my head on the pillow around 8:00 or 9:00 PM, and found myself waking up around 1:30 PM the next day. I don’t remember ever sleeping for such a long stretch in my life. That’s how exhausted I was, so try to understand me. Stay well! May God bless you..
