Time Doesn’t Stop, So We Must Know How to Use It Well

While watching a movie, we can easily use the pause button to stop it for 1-2 minutes to go to the kitchen and grab a glass of water. But in real life, we cannot say, “Let’s pause time for 5 minutes and delay the sunset,” and we never will be able to. We must realize that time is more valuable than the most precious treasures in this world. Therefore, we must be planned and organized to use time correctly, without wasting even a single minute of it.

– Happiness depends on success, and success depends on utilizing time.

We all want to be happy and successful, but what sacrifices are we making or striving to make for the things we want to achieve? Laziness is the worst disease in the world, in my opinion. For a lazy person, it is very difficult for success to be anything more than a figment of their imagination, let alone the thought of using time efficiently ever crossing their mind.

Social networks and interactions; nowadays there are so many internet addicts, and we should try to stay away from those places under the name of social networks where we spend hours with absolutely no real benefit, constantly refreshing the page and waiting for the next posts. Speaking for myself, I feel like if I stay away from these social networks, I’ll be cut off from all the new news and events. But actually, I don’t need to know everything anyway. If I focus on things that will benefit me in my own field and only occupy myself with them, that is what will lead me to success and, of course, to happiness.

– Fools think about how to kill time, while the wise think about how to gain it.

Time is beautiful when used correctly and when entertainment is enjoyed in moderation. Entertainment is a chain of events people engage in to feel happy and relax. For example, going to a cafe to play backgammon or Rummikub (okey), sitting down to watch a series or a movie, going out and wandering around with friends, etc. We can extend this chain with countless examples. But this entertainment should happen within a certain time frame. For instance, university students meeting at cafes every day after class to endlessly play games, or dedicating more time to wandering around than studying—these individuals might not realize they are unnecessarily wasting their time and that these short-term amusements are diminishing the success rate of their future lives. I’m not saying don’t go out or have fun, but I am saying you need to know where to draw the line. If you say, “I’m going to be successful, I’m going to own my own business,” yet you spend most of your time on trivial things… I just wanted you to know that no such world exists. I have read and watched the life stories of many successful people. Not a single one of them claims that money just found its way into their pockets while they sat around doing nothing. They strive, and after making the best use of their time, they gain peace of mind for their current lives based on their past efforts, while also creating a comfortable environment for their future.

– Time erases things that are easily obtained and cheap.

In addition to these, being successful is, of course, one of the ways to be happy. But if you misunderstand what I’ve written and fail to make time for both your family and the people around you just so you can “make the best use of all your time,” this will push you right back into unhappiness. Because success brings you happiness thanks to the people around you. What does it matter if you become a king all by yourself?

In short, time doesn’t stop, life is short. A person who knows the value of the life and time given to us can live comfortably both in this world and (speaking for people with faith) in the afterlife. Writing this piece took me—I’m not exactly sure—but maybe half an hour, maybe more. I hope you feel that I’ve shared some useful information with you. Stay well. May God bless you. 🙂
