This part sets up the permalink structure for your WordPress site. Getting permalinks right is one of the simplest SEO moves you can make — Google likes clean, predictable URLs.
Path: wp-admin → Settings > Permalinks. The video uses this pattern (post title + date in URL):
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%.html
If your audience is local, also localise the Tag base and Category base (e.g. etiket, kategori for Turkish) so URLs read natively.
2026 Recommendation
- Date-based URLs are out of fashion — they make posts look old as time passes. The modern default is
/%postname%/. - Changing permalink structure on a live site requires 301 redirects from old to new (Yoast/Rank Math, or the Redirection plugin).
- Before any change, snapshot your high-impression URLs from Search Console.
