Back in 2012, monetizing YouTube was still novel in Turkey. Becoming a “Partner” was an invite-only dream. Fourteen years on, the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) is a totally different machine — thresholds, revenue streams and tax treatment all changed.

Thousands of original videos go up on YouTube every day. Why?
YouTube has a thing called “Creators & Partners”. It lets you make money from your uploads. Most people either don’t know YouTube pays, or know but can’t figure out how to become a partner.

2026 — The Modern YouTube Partner Program
The 2012 system was largely invite-based. Today the rules are crystal clear.
Standard Tier (Full Monetization)
- 1,000 subscribers minimum.
- Either 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 10M Shorts views in the last 90 days.
- 2-step verification enabled.
- Channel must follow Community Guidelines.
- Eligible for AdSense in your country.
Early-Access Tier (Memberships & Tips)
YouTube added a lower-threshold early-access creator program in 2023:
- 500 subscribers + 3 uploads in the last 90 days + 3,000 watch hours in 12 months.
- Unlocks Super Thanks, channel memberships, Shopping. Ad revenue still requires the full threshold.
Revenue Streams (2026)
- Ad revenue: $0.50-5 per 1,000 views depending on niche.
- YouTube Premium share: revenue from subscribed viewers.
- Channel memberships: monthly subscriptions from fans.
- Super Chat / Super Thanks: live-stream tips.
- Shopping: product tagging + commission (2024 rollout).
- Shorts fund: short-video revenue share (post-2023).
- Sponsorships: typically the biggest line item, outside YouTube itself.
Taxes in Turkey (Worth Knowing)
- Annual YouTube income under ~1M TL qualifies for a reduced regime with automatic 15% withholding at the bank.
- Above that — standard income tax brackets.
- Forming a sole proprietorship or limited company makes sense around 50K+ TL/month.
- AdSense pays Turkey in USD/EUR — exchange-rate gains add up too.
Practical 2026 Roadmap
- Pick a niche (tutorials, entertainment, niche products).
- Format template: a 5-7 minute classic + one Short per day.
- Consistency: 2 uploads per week minimum, for 6 months.
- Thumbnail + title: 70% of CTR depends on these two.
- 500 subs → early-access tier → 1,000 subs → full YPP.
