FROM GERMANY TO NORWAY

I WANT TO TAKE A LONG JOURNEY

Among the things I want to do before I turn 40 is to take a road trip outside of my own country—whether long or short. But not for work, and not just by hopping on a bus and riding nonstop. My goal is a journey where I can sometimes stop to look around, sometimes get behind the wheel and move forward. And now, for this goal, I say *Bismillah* and we begin.

What: Me traveling abroad.

Why: Because being on the road is beautiful, and I’ve never had such an experience before.

Who: My bros and me 😀 (Emre, Çınar, İsmail).

STORY PROCESS:

07.05.2022 – The idea came up for the first time to hold a Discord meeting about Germany.

16.05.2022 – For the first time, Emre, İsmail, and I gathered and talked about Germany via Discord.

17.06.2022 – We sent Emre copies of our passports and residence documents to get an invitation from Germany.

08.08.2022 – We experienced some delays regarding the Germany invitation.

16.08.2022 – We created the Discord channel called Germany Travelers and, on 17.08.2022, we set up a WhatsApp group with the same name.

16.08.2022 – Çınar also joined the team for the Germany trip.

16–17.08.2022 (night) – We took advantage of Pegasus’ €1 + tax campaign. I bought my ticket for 27 November – 7 December, and Çınar and İsmail bought theirs for 28 November – 7 December to Stuttgart, Germany.

18.08.2022 – We discussed how the Germany–Norway plan might be a bit difficult. We also considered experiencing it through France or Switzerland instead.

26.08.2022 – Çınar’s new passport arrived, and the following week Emre applied for invitations for the three of us.

07.09.2022 – Emre messaged that my invitation had been approved.

08.09.2022 – I started gathering the necessary documents for the Germany Schengen visa.

19.09.2022 – The Germany invitations arrived in my hands.

20.09.2022 – Emre and I discussed the possibility of making the Norway trip happen.

23.09.2022 – We applied for the Germany visa.

25.09.2022 – After a long break, I started updating the Germany–Norway page again.

05.10.2022 – Emre and I roughly prepared the plan for the Germany trip. We outlined the destinations, decided on the places to stay, and looked at Airbnb houses.

16.10.2022 – Before the email arrived, I casually checked the iData site and saw that the passport had arrived. Tomorrow morning, we’ll find out whether the visa has been approved or not.
