twenty-twenty

  • 2019 article: A new year, a new article “2019”
  • 2018 article: Greetings from Day 736206!
  • 2017 article: Welcome to 7102!

I have written such articles while entering 2017, 2018, and 2019. At the end of the 2019 article, I said, “Burak, you are now 25, what are you waiting for?” I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote this sentence? Now I am 26, and I don’t know what I am waiting for or why. It just feels like I want to improve myself more. But is that really what I want? Most likely, right after finishing this article, I will prepare a detailed annual program for myself. Last year, I narrowed down what I needed to do into some simple basic rules. I think those rules were nice, but when I look back, I realized I was happier when I wrote in detail what I had done and what I was going to do. So, just like the previous years, I will create two sections: what I have done and what I will do. While doing this, I will use the divide and conquer structure. When I divide what I have done this year into categories, it comes down to YouTube, Udemy, work life, talks, travels, competitions, etc.;

Looking at the data from Burak Bayram’s YouTube channel; 10,553 new subscribers have joined. While receiving 1,315,299 views, the videos have been watched for 4,619,220 minutes. Our total number of subscribers has reached 65,071. And I have only published 8 videos.
On Udemy, 3,344 new students have enrolled in our 3 courses. And I have prepared 0 new courses.
I have given 101 Photoshop training at 8 different universities. I gave a talk at 1 university and 1 high school, and I was also blessed with the opportunity to give a TEDx talk at TEDxYouth@MES.
We participated in Teknofest’s Rocket competition, went all the way to Aksaray, and made it to the final stage. We completed a rocket.
I got into the 3D printer scene and learned about the programs and the logic of 3D printing. (Ender 3 Pro)
I was blessed with the opportunity to start working at TRTWorld. And I completed 5 months at this company.
Through Postcrossing, I have sent 40 postcards. And I received 41 postcards from abroad.
I practiced the art of marbling (ebru) 8 times. I tried something similar to calligraphy once. And I drew a new cup once.
I went camping once and traveled to Sakarya once to relax.
I walked an average of 6,763 steps daily and covered 4.9 km.

This seems like a year in which I slowed down. So let’s set new goals. Clear and detailed goals. Maybe there will be a few points that will be useful for you as well. By the way, I had a list called 27 before 27. Based on that, there will be some special items. I want to complete as many of them as I can. Maybe it may seem impossible, but if Allah wills, it will happen. So, I will wish for it and work in that direction. If, despite my efforts, it does not happen, then I will start to look at the matter from another perspective. 🙂

Things I want to do in 2020:

  • Prepare 25 new Career Talks videos.
  • Prepare 25 new videos on topics you like.
  • Start piano lessons. (item 25)
  • Gain 34,930 new subscribers. (item 18)
  • Travel more. (This item is connected to the next one.)
  • Prepare 25 new videos for the tubi channel. (items 4,5,7,9,10,11,12,15,17,27)
  • Enroll in a ceramics course.
  • Enroll in a calligraphy course.
  • Prepare 1 training set for Udemy (WordPress).
  • Make 12 new cup paintings.
  • Count the books you have read.
  • Write an automation for all data.
  • Attend events that you think will be useful to you. (15 events)
  • Send 100 postcards.
  • Find another job you like.
  • Complete Gezgin Harfler and reach a finale.

For now, I think these are enough. Because of these, I will not have much free time anyway. I did not include personal items here. 2019 really felt like a bit of an empty year to me. Actually, it wasn’t that empty, but since it fell below my expectations and I couldn’t improve myself much, in 2020, which we entered just 1 hour and 10 minutes ago, I aim to work harder and to become a better and more hardworking person. Take care of yourself, may Allah protect you.

Update 1

Date: 01.02.2020

I’ll sound like I’m answering myself, but this year for the first time I didn’t write “graduate.” It was destined for me to graduate from school. That’s fate 😀

          JANUARY REPORT:

  • I shot 1 personal video.
  • I published 1 Career Talk.
  • I sent 11 postcards.
  • We gained 918 YouTube subscribers.

  • For the first time in my life, I worked as a production manager on a TV series set. It was an interesting experience.
  • I tried to enroll in a ceramics course twice, but it wasn’t meant to be.
  • I attended a leatherworking course and learned how to make a leather passport holder.
  • I graduated.

Update 2

Date: 18.03.2020

The last thing I wrote was January, and then nothing after that. If you ask why; I basically “forgot” February. After that, we started working from home anyway. And except for going out to buy bread, I hardly left the house. If you ask whether I did anything at home:

  • In the beginning, I tried to read books.
  • I used the 3D printer a lot and tried to create useful products.
  • I learned Fusion 360 and tried to produce some things.
  • I bought a Knight Bus Lego set and completed it.
  • I built new shelves for my room. (Completely handmade—cut the wood myself, designed the shelf holders in 3D, and printed them to custom measurements.)
  • Apart from that, I worked a lot on company tasks.
  • Finally, I started learning ReactJS.
  • I bought the domain burakbayram.me. I’ll try to publish different kinds of content there as well.
