You want to take your site to the next level. Or you’re wary of viruses hidden inside pirated themes — meaning it’s time to buy your own paid theme. So which site do you buy them from? Let me introduce you to ThemeForest. Theme prices generally range from $20 to $35. But if you want it fully in Turkish — saying “once I buy the theme I don’t want to fiddle with it” — there are individual Turkish developers selling themes too. You can check the language section to see whether a theme is in Turkish. Themes with language options usually flag this clearly.
Our site, ThemeForest, is the famous WordPress theme marketplace. Its sales model doesn’t cover only single-creator themes. It works a bit like eBay — everyone uploads their theme, and those who like them can download and use them. So how do you download? First, you need to create an account through ThemeForest’s Create Account page. Once you have an account, pick a theme from the thousands available. The site has categories like Blog / Magazine / Personal / Artistic / Tech / News / Hosting-specific / Download sites / E-commerce sites / Mobile. You can also download the PSD formats of these themes separately at a lower price.
When downloading, you click the Purchase button. You’re offered Paypal or direct Account payment. Account payment pulls straight from a credit card, while Paypal adds an extra $1–2 for using Paypal.
After payment, the download page opens. From your account, hover over your username in the top right, head to the Download section, and grab your theme. There’s no separate licensing step — your license number comes in a text file inside the package. If a question arises, you can show that number, or your invoice. The downloaded zip contains your license, the PSD file, the logo PSD, the theme itself and an English help folder. You can drop the theme directly into your site and start using it. There’s no licensing process to complete. Also, as the theme is updated you can re-download the latest version and use that. Once you buy a theme, you don’t need to buy it again — every update is yours.
Let me touch on licenses too. There’s a regular license and an extended license. Regular means you have the right to use the downloaded theme on a single site. Extended means you can both distribute it and use it on any site you want. There’s a notable difference between them. For example: a theme I bought was $35 on the regular license, meaning the right to use it on one site. The extended version of the same theme jumps to $1,750. So it’s a serious price to pay.
One more thing: when you buy a regular theme on ThemeForest, say you have three sites and you want to use the theme on all of them. Download, install, no issues — honestly. The license says regular, but no problem arises. So no issue will come up, God willing.
Buying like this both avoids piracy and pays the developer for their work. Plus, you don’t have to deal with “there’s a virus inside” or “my site crashed” problems. You spend a happy life with a theme you love. Honestly, instead of putting that money into 5–10 articles on the site, just put it into a theme. Very simple.
You don’t pay extra for updates to the theme you bought. For those curious about the download page, I’m sharing the download view from my own account. Don’t worry, you won’t get scammed easily. Lastly, my recommendation: read the theme’s comments page about issues with the theme before buying. You might suddenly realize the theme isn’t what you wanted. Pay attention to this. Check comments first. Or use the heuristic: a theme bought many times is generally a quality theme. Now you can inspect the download screen. Stay well! Peace be with you! Finally, you can reach the site’s main page from here.
