Read

Read, read, read. In short, read. Why? Because the things you need to remind yourself of must be read and repeated nonstop. Whatever the topic, whatever the situation, on some topics you need to keep updating yourself and keep reading. I wasn’t sure which topic to give as an example, but let’s say there’s a side of you that you don’t like, and there’s a book written on this topic with advice that will help you correct it. Saying “I read this once and tossed it aside” won’t do. Because without repetition and putting it into practice, the trait you want won’t stay with you over time. After a certain time, that side of yourself you didn’t like may start showing again without you noticing. That was just one example — wherever you want to apply this in your own life, that’s up to you.

Another point: alongside reading, isn’t there video content out there that can sharpen these traits — won’t that work? Maybe, maybe not. But speaking from my own experience, when watching videos I tend to focus on the speaker and not use my own thinking. While the man is talking I don’t always pause and say “if it were like this it would be that,” “he might be very right here but it might also be better like this.” Instantaneously I think, yeah, that’s great, he’s saying the right thing — but it’s very momentary. When you read a book the situation is much more flexible. You read one sentence on page 1, for example, but imagine that sentence has tremendous depth.

It’s been 5 minutes since I started reading the book, but because of that sentence I can forget the book and enter thinking mode for an hour. Reading a book doesn’t restrict imagination, and it gives you space to think and imagine. But of course, don’t fail to watch videos. Information is information — as long as it’s reliable and sound.

Today I had to leave the computer for 3 hours by force. There were a ton of scientific and ethical magazines at home. Sitting and reading an article that talked about nature’s perfect beauty and proportional structure in mathematical terms, this kind of thought hit me out of nowhere. What I’ve written here I had already thought there, and now I’ve put it on paper.

That’s it for now. Stay well. May God protect you. Love, respect 😀
