Microsoft Summer School Internship — Day 8

Let me switch things up today. I’ll tell you what I did from the moment I woke up — or, you know what, never mind 😀 The day’s first guest was Ekin Çağlar, co-founder of Woto. Çağlar is a true entrepreneur at heart — you can take my word for it. He talked about three different ventures he’d been part of, what they ran into and what they learned along the way, and finally about using Woto and what you can do on it. He also walked us through how Woto — well-suited for blog-style setups — differs from CMS installs like WordPress and the like; we promptly signed up for an account.

As a follow-up to Monday and Tuesday, İlkay İlknur and Gökhan Gülbil stayed with us, bringing more new material. A few of the topics they covered: trainings on HTTP, REST API, RPC, SOAP, as well as the history of C# and the work being done in that area.

The day’s final speaker was Alper Yegin. In his talk, Yegin — like other IoT-focused speakers — shared wake-up insights about how the future is going to be IoT, how important it is, and how big a market is going to form around it.

The other interesting bit of the day: the team from SkyTürk interviewed Microsoft Deputy GM Cavit Yantaç, then sat down with Hasret from Summer School for another interview — and on that note, the day wrapped up.
