After saying good morning to another day at the Microsoft office, the day’s first guest was Melek Pulatkonak, founder of TurkishWIN. Pulatkonak told us about leaving her role as Microsoft Deputy GM and how she built TurkishWIN from scratch, the challenges of growing membership from zero, and the place of women in the tech and business world — and how to be more proactive about taking it up.

After the lunch break — and Eno and Caner’s billiards tournament match — we had the chance to learn, both hands-on and theoretically, from Daron Yöndem, Gökhan Gülbil and İlkay İlknur on topics like Azure Storage, Table-Blob services and TPL.

The day’s final speaker was Gözde Berber. The topic for this part was Personal Leadership. Gözde Berber argued that company executives aren’t the only ones who get to be leaders — everyone can be a leader in their own field and their own work. She talked about leadership essentially being the sum of the decisions we make in our lives.
