Why I’m Tired of Producing Free Tutorial Videos

Honestly, our people really do have a problem. I prepare Photoshop and Sony Vegas tutorials for free, and folks still find a ton of things to complain about — I just don’t get it. If they had to pay, they wouldn’t make half the noise. Friend, if you don’t like it, don’t watch — just leave. Someone said about one of the programs, “we’d find these by clicking around ourselves anyway,” and then handed me a list saying “go teach these next.” Look genius, if you can find them by clicking around, why don’t you find the items on your own list? People will drive you crazy. These comments aren’t new. The guy can’t do what I do — recording a video and explaining it — and then comes back and says “this doesn’t work.” I don’t even know what to tell you. We don’t have a concept of saying thank you either. If a video is genuinely useful, watch and leave. No likes, no comments. But the moment they find one tiny thing wrong, they’ll smash dislike, drop a disrespectful comment, and disappear. For the love of God, don’t be like this. Even criticism has limits. He’s not even criticizing. He watches my free tutorial that I poured onto the internet for nothing —

— and then comes at me over some tiny detail. May God grant such people some sense, what else can I say. Anyway, I keep doing this so our kids don’t fall behind the foreign-language audiences. I watch foreigners’ videos and prepare Turkish versions of them, and still — this. Best to just go paid: they’ll stay quiet and I won’t go through this. Wouldn’t surprise me if I just delete all my tutorial videos eventually.

I made one short video on a simple topic. A guy comes in, writes “ugh, what is this video ………” and leaves. But look — that video has zero dislikes, plenty of likes, and 3-4k views. You moron, just because YOU know it, does that mean others can’t learn from it? I know nearly all of Photoshop by heart too. Should I now go drop heaps of insults under brush-painting tutorials? Use your head a little, for God’s sake.

So I’m telling you: don’t give people things for free, they get out of hand. Even if it’s symbolic, set some price so they stay quiet because they paid for it.
